Shady Gums is a unique two bedroom holiday house. It is modern, spacious, suitable for families and couples. Shady Gums is perfect for those needing accessible facilities, having been purpose built with wheelchair access and varying needs in mind.

Surrounded by the spectacular Grampians National Park, in Victoria Australia. It is 2.4 kms from the Halls Gap town centre and there is a beautiful accessible path in front of Shady Gums that takes you to the village centre.

The house is set in amongst Eucalypt trees and has its own seasonal creek flowing through the property. The creek is visible from the main living area of Shady Gums. From the rear deck there is a footbridge over the creek to a private firepit.

Wildlife abound. There are Kangaroos, wallabies, emu, echidna, possums, and deer as well as the dozens of beautiful native birds that visit our bird bath and feeder. These are clearly visible from the bay window.

The Grampians is a great place to visit all year around. In winter spend time in front of the cosy wood fire and outdoor campfire. In spring the place is alive with wildflowers and fresh flowing creeks. In autumn the days are perfect and the nights fresh, great for walking and in summer there is are water based activities like fishing, canoeing, sailing, on the lakes and swimming in the town pool to be enjoyed.

Shady Gums has been the dream of Andrew and Norelle Pearce to build an accessible cottage in their most favourite  part of the world – The Grampians National Park!
Shady Gums was designed and built by Andrew and was our family home for 15 years.

We have been the carers of our adult daughter for 30 years and understand the importance of a ‘break away’ for people with or without their caring companions.
We would love for  our special place to accommodate holidays particularly for families who have a child with additional needs. Our place is well equipped to support individual requirements.
We would like to see carers, and people with compromised mobility enjoy our purpose built property.

We hope you enjoy your stay in beautiful Shady Gums. May you return home refreshed and recharged!!!!

Kind regards,
Andrew and Norelle Pearce
